As stated in the articles; the Chamars have some 250 temples in Punjab and temples in almost all other major countries of the world.
They did this due to the cast based inequalities being shown to them by the leaders of the sikh faith in India and the followers of extreme sikh movements internationally.
The leaders of Dera Sach Khand Ballan have done a lot for the Punjabi Dalit community in the form of promoting education, religion and providing health care facilities. This was achieved within the past 30 years as the money donated to them is used for the good of community and does not end up in somebody,s pocket.
Now, due to the extreme sikhs murdering sant Ramanand Jee; this community is acknowledging that they should have their own identity which is of the same status as any other religion.
