Pinarayi Vijayan was an MLA during the Emergency. He was then in his early 30s. At the instructions of then Home Minister K.Karunakaran, he was arrested and tortured. His leg was broken.
Pinarayi is a person that has been living under various death threats from his 20s.
Even the Congressmen of Kerala repeat on TV Channels in panel discussions that they do not accuse Pinarayi of corruption or wrong doing at any time.
“But, let us not dilute the otherwise meaningful discussion like this.”

Who is this ‘Surjeet Singh’? When did Italian company given preferential entry in West Bengal? Which company? “Lavlyn” by Surjeet’s children? Pinarayi Vijayan is a known crook. But, let us not dilute the otherwise meaningful discussion like this.

Following Surjeet Singh’s intiatives to boost his sons’ business, the CPM was converted into something worse than the Congress. It was through him that the WB government was enticed into unfettered marketisation. From 2004, Italian business was given preferential entry into WB. Even the Lavlyn scam in Kerala was brokered by Surjeet’s children only.
That Surjeet announced Left’s support to Sonia Gandhi in 2004 without consulting anyone has not been highlighted in the media. His children were and are associates of the Maino family businesses.

Poor Karat has been fighting a losing battle against the Surjeet legacy.
