Brilliant Post. So True. So Sad.

There was a time I was foolish enough to believe that the media is a responsible collective of facts, and that the Indian democracy would veer for the truth, no matter what. After seeing how my Muslim friends were treated as second class citizens (even in college) the minute anyone heard their names, such prejudices became equally painful for me as them.

Now when I try to discuss how horribly young Muslims are treated in India, people simply label me as a communist and the topic moves on to another dimension that is more comforting to talk about rather than acknowledge that we create the so-called "terrorists," many of whom aremore often than not terrorists, but the media and the hindu conscience that dominates our perceptions would like to believe .

Thank you for publishing this.
