The Tribune , Chandigarh , December 24 , 2009 published a news under title " Editors Guild expresses concern over ‘paid news’ " ;

" The Editors Guild of India has expressed shock and serious concern at the increasing number of reports of publication or broadcast of “paid news” by some newspapers and television channels, especially during the recent elections.

The guild, at its annual general meeting held yesterday, strongly condemned the practice that, it said, had shaken Indian journalism. It called upon all editors in the country to desist from publishing any form of advertisement that masqueraded as news.

A statement issued by the guild said: “It is imperative that news organisations have to clearly distinguish between news and advertisements with full and proper disclosure norms, so that no reader and viewer is tricked by any subterfuge of advertisements published and broadcast in the same format, language and style of news. It is disturbing that this paid news practice is also being used by companies, organisations and individuals, apart from political parties.” For more please click http://www.tribuneindia.com/2009/20091224/main7.htm
This confirms that the yellow journalism is a threat to the ethical society .

Thanks Ananth for a timely intervention, I agree with you and anyone who is open to media also do. Business and trp rates became forerunners and the unwanted reports and glamor around wicked elements became order of the day. Who is responsible for these forced murders? Certainly the role of media should be more responsible, and in this crave for who is first killed most of required sensibilities. Vested interests of the media and the politicians led to the sorrowful outcomes. when a 'movement' or 'protest' come into action, people who started its should stood in the first row and it should be leaders and proponents, unfortunately opportunist attitudes ruling present day But is there a way out to deal with these happenings
