Unfortunately, those of us who rejoiced at Veena’s [successful] attempt at cutting these two (the misogynist host and the sleazy mullah) down to size are still a minority. Most people still saw this as (and I quote) “the belligerence of an unrepentant slut”. While many of those are the same people that valorised Salmaan Taseer’s murderer, the anti-Veena brigade also includes people who’re opposing the draconian blasphemy laws. Middleclass morality and misogyny rear their heads in weird places. Cry, beloved country.

I hope the double standard followed by elites and upper middle class will shun their usual way and condemn Blasphemy Law, Its a borrowed concept from Roman Catholic system. There has been nothing like this in Islamic System. As this concept was not practiced by Prophet Mohammad (Pbuh) who are the the mullahs to incorporate it?

Even most of the people didn’t vote to Islamic party in elections, they are saying yes for Sharaia law. This is indirectly first step towards theocratic rule. And the present ruling and opposition parties are fully dipped in the corruption. When the murderer, Malik Mumtaz Qadri is treated like national hero. And , now there is absence of prosecution lawyer’ in Taseer murder case. Imagine the fate of country…

Horrid clip. This Veena Malik claims to be a good person as she has made a Hindu read namaz. If this is the liberal face of Pakistan, heaven help it.

Its unfortunate that Veena had to make a Hindu person say Namaj(?). I am not sure what she meant by that?
