Characteristics of the best Razer gaming keyboards

Razer is one of the most well-known gaming peripheral companies in the world. They are known for their high-end concept designs that push the boundaries of what gamers thought possible. Most people know Razer as the company famous for its gaming mice. But recently, Razer has come out with gaming keyboards such as “BlackWidow,” see here https://www.razer.com/pc/gaming-keyboards-and-keypads; Razer aims to provide a high-quality mechanical keyboard at a competitive price, much like their other products.

Today, we will be looking at six characteristics of the Razer BlackWidow to determine whether it is worthy of your money and time.

1: Mechanical MX Blue switches with 50g actuation force

Like most other gaming companies today, Razer has decided to use the ever-popular Cherry MX Blue switches in their new BlackWidow. In our opinion, these mechanical keys have really good tactile feedback when pressed and give you an incredible typing experience for both gaming and work. The Razer BlackWidow also comes in two other variants: Green and Yellow. We feel that gamers should get the Blue variant for better tactile feedback, but it all depends on personal preference. Keep in mind that the other switches have a slightly different feel, so try before buying.

2: 5 additional macro keys

As a gamer myself, I use macros almost 100% of the time when playing RPGs and Action games. The Razer BlackWidow has five macro keys that can easily be programmed in-game using Razer’s Synapse software. They come with a software download, but we feel that gamers will not find this necessary as most games today have the option to record macros quite easily.

3: Solid build quality with matte surface finish

This is one of the main reasons why we decided to review BlackWidow. The product has a sturdy and solid feel, which is rare for keyboards around this price range. It also doesn’t feel cheap at all, and I’m really satisfied with its build quality.

4: No ghosting or key blocking issues

This is one of the most important things to look for in a gaming keyboard. If you’re planning to play RPGs or First Person Shooters, getting a good and reliable keyboard is vital as it will affect the outcome of your game. Fortunately, we tested this Razer BlackWidow on several games and never once experienced ghosting nor key blocking issues.

5: Individual backlighting for keys

This is a unique feature that sets the Razer BlackWidow apart from other keyboards in this price range. The backlighting can be adjusted to any color you want, and you also have the option of choosing whether individual keys should light up or not. This enables gamers to set different lighting effects for different games (for example, lighting up keys used by the game), which is an incredible feature for any gamer.

6: Backlight settings can be changed without having to log in to Razer’s server

This feature is very important if you want to change your backlighting setting for different games. Razer has recently stopped selling its products in Singapore, which means that if you ever wanted to change your backlighting settings for certain games, you would have to log into Razer’s website and update your Synapse software before connecting it with the game. This is because BlackWidow’s lighting information is stored on Razer’s server, so if you ever want to change your backlighting settings, it cannot be done without an Internet connection. Fortunately, Razer was kind enough to give us access to their latest software update, where this problem has been fixed.

All in all, the Razer BlackWidow is one of the best gaming keyboards in its price range due to its low retail price, durability, and great features. What do you think about the Razer BlackWidow?
