When you are planning a visit or trip to New York City, there are plenty of sights you can visit. Making the most out of your time is important. When it comes to the top sights and attractions, which ones should you be heading for? Deciding where you want to go and why is important because attractions get booked up very quickly. Pre-booking in advance is always recommended, but where should you look at pre-booking, and what is at the top of your list?

Visiting the Empire State Building

Standing out high above the city skyline, you will find the Empire State building. This was once one of the world’s tallest buildings, and it is still a pretty impressive sight to look at and visit. To look around the building, you are going to need to purchase Empire State Building tickets from a reputable company or tour operator. When you visit the building, you can visit the on-site interactive museum or marvel at the skyline from the observatory. If you want to see all the building has to offer, and you want a 360, then why not add on a trip to the 102nd deck?

Central Park

This beautiful park located in the heart of the city has something for visitors of all ages. You could hire a bike, stop off and have a homemade picnic while enjoying the lake and exploring everything the park has to offer. Alternatively, you could travel by foot and stop off for a boat or Gondola ride to see the park from a new angle. Throughout the year, there are several activities in which you can immerse yourself, from ice skating in the wintertime to spring and summertime concerts.

Statue of Liberty

The statue of liberty was a gift from France to the United States, and it is a gift that has stood the test of time. Climbing the 350+ steps will take you up to the statue’s crown, and from here, you can take in a truly fabulous and outstanding view. If you don’t fancy going up all of these steps, or if heights are not your thing, then you could head to the pedestal, which requires you to climb just over 190+ steps. If you don’t want to/can’t walk up the steps, then why not take the elevator to the pedestal (where the feet of the statue are)?

Times Square

If you are looking for a busy location that offers entertainment venues galore, then wait no longer and head to Times Square. If you are a lover or fan of musicals, then this should be one of your go-to places. Spending at least a day wandering around this magical and exciting place is a must. Broadway, shopping until you drop at well-known stores, magical musical venues, and a vast choice of eateries and dining locations are all on your doorstep. Throughout the year, and especially in the New Year, plenty of parties and special events can be found. The atmosphere that Times Square has to offer, especially around large-scale events, is difficult to beat.
